STORM ON THE HORIZON

Dream: I was in a white car. And there was chaos. I walked out of this chaotic place, and I smelled the rain. Then I looked in front, way up to the left side, and I saw this one person (from Hot Brazil family) driving this work truck with cut trees, possibly lumber for building, and he was driving it. He was working, and he looked at me and held up his hand like, “Just wait, I will be right there. Let me get this done first.” But I could see the clouds forming. Then I looked to the other side, and I saw Marlene coming out from the other side of the chaos, from the next street, and she said, “Hurry it up, the storm is coming.” And the dream was over. This dream stayed in my spirit for a while, and God started giving me scriptures based on the dream that God was showing me. If there is a storm coming in the natural, what should you do? Get yourself ready! Prepare your house. Tie down the loose ends. Secure your stuff on the foundations. Get rid of dangerous objects. But also, God’s dreams are usually always spiritual, so He is talking about our houses, our lives. Now, who is the house of God? We are (1 Peter 2:5). We are a spiritual house not built by the hands of man but built on the rock, Jesus being the chief cornerstone. Time to clean house and all things around us that can be dangerous. Through this dream, Jesus was speaking to us, the end-time church, alarming us and helping us for the storm that is coming. The passage in Matthew 8:18-27 helps us to have this urgency of the hour and to be prepared for now, but many still keep asking Him to…” Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father” (verse 21). This guy was expecting a few more years to take care of his father, to take care of his dreams, his kingdom. But when He calls you, that is when He wants you to come! If you keep telling God to wait to obey, you will be deceived and will be carried away by the storm. We face storms all the time, but I believe this dream was the storm of a lifetime. I believe something is coming, and we don’t even realize it. Whether it is financial, political, or persecution of the brethren…there is a storm coming, and the whole world will be in it!

The scribe was able to call Jesus master, but to call somebody master you need to submit to them and give ears to what the master is saying. The scribes in this passage were paying attention to the things that Jesus was saying. No one would call Him a master unless there was some level of submission and belief in who He was. Everybody wants to follow Jesus, like this scribe. You are not His disciple anymore if you stop listening to the master. And you don’t have the authority of the master if you don’t obey the master. It is not something automatic. It only exists when you abide in Him and do His words. The disciples of Jesus in the book of Acts had people falling dead for lying to the Holy Spirit because of such a weight of authority they had. The disciples in the boat had no authority in them yet. There is a storm coming, but it has nothing to do with elements of this world. I believe it is a spiritual storm. I believe this coming storm will bring in the greatest tribulation the world has ever seen, and if you are not discerning the times and the things coming, then you may already be too drunk with the cares of this life.

Jesus was sending His disciples to make people ready. Just as in the passage of Luke 9:50-62, Jesus is sending His messengers to every city to make people ready for Him! People say when they get saved, “Lord, I will go everywhere you go, whenever you go.” Just like this man in verse 57, but we are too busy with our own selves! We are not magnifying the storm; we are magnifying the need to be ready for it! We are magnifying the need to be with Him in the boat and to be ready for it! Jesus is saying, “Go thou and preach the kingdom of God” (verse 60). He did not say, go and preach about the storm. No, He said, preach the kingdom of God! And the kingdom of God is all about the king and His kingdom first. To follow Jesus will cost everything! Let Jesus carry this yoke and burden for you and trade your yoke and your own burdens. It is time to give Him your yoke. Stop trying to keep two yokes (Matthew 11:29-30). But we are always battling between OUR WILL and HIS WILL. Some of you live in the Garden of Gethsemane your whole life. Tomorrow, you know you will have to die, but you are still asking God to live for one more day, one more month, one more year! Some people think their yoke is the yoke of the Lord when it is not! They are carrying their own yoke, and it’s heavy! Why? Because they are carrying a vision that is of their own, a dream of their own. That is not the yoke that the Father has for you! You never saw Jesus in conflict all the time! He went through it once, and once and for all, surrendered all! Then He was able to stand in front of all the storms, all the lies, and all the council and liars.

Somebody else said, “I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house” (verse 61). There was not even time to go back to your family and say goodbye. We must be fit for the kingdom of God. We cannot look back. We must be ready to move when He says move (verse 62). We are at the end of time! Jesus is bringing an urgency to us! We must understand when He calls us, we need to obey! There is no urgency during this season and time!  Do you see the storm coming? Do you see that you won’t be fit for the kingdom of God if you don’t wake up? This message of the kingdom is all about “forsake all”! It is all about following Him, not our own plans and not our own dreams! You cannot have two yokes. You say Jesus is your master, but you are being torn between two wills. And you are blaming your work; you are blaming your family or your finances as an excuse for not responding to the calling! Where are you? He is ready to do something now! Where are you?

God prepares a meal for us every day, daily bread! The table is set! Today, He has prepared a feast to be eaten, to be strengthened through it, to help us to set our mind to obeying this calling. This is why Paul beseeches us, I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the calling…” Ephesians 4:1; and He said, “ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

In Luke 14:12-35, God is telling us to bid them to come to this feast! This is the setting of the Lord’s supper where we have a feast ready.

Jesus told us to call the needy, not our friends, not our brother, not people we are familiar with, but the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind. The needy are desperate. They are willing to do anything to eat that bread! But look at all the excuses we give, just like in the dream… “Give me some time, and I will be there soon.” Many are deceiving themselves. Your treasure is your family. It is your big house. It is your dream. Stop deceiving yourself! Not everyone that will be seated at His table will be eating only of His flesh every day! Some leave the table to take care of their own kingdom! All things are ready, but many are still giving excuses. Jesus knew that we would give excuses today! It is their property, it is their business, it is their marriage, it is their kid’s school, it is their 18-wheelers. It is living for a future that may never come, that is not promised. This is a worldly mindset, but God loves us so much that He is still calling us! “And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come” (verses 18-20). It is not about the bidding but the seating! It is about the obeying when He calls us! People look at you and say how great you are, but you are dead inside! His table is as long as eyes can see! He is very concerned about YOU sitting at the table more than doing the bidding. Jesus is always concerned about the sitting even more than the bidding. Religion is always concerned about the doing and the going out. But Jesus was always speaking about the abiding, about the relationship first. Then, only then, we will have the authority when we go in His name, when we are sent by Him! The religious system is all about the bidding, but it is all about the sitting. You can be at His house and never be seated at the table. You can be sitting at His table but never be eating the Lamb! It is not about sitting on a bench at the church service. It is about being the Church that abides in Him.

“Go out quickly, and find another people!” God said, but there was still more room!  God does not care who comes, but they need to come! “My house has to be full!” God says. If the Jewish people don’t want to come, get the gentiles. If the chosen ones don’t want to come, get those the world does not want: the prostitutes, the thieves, and the drug addicts! The master got angry because the servants considered something else besides Him as important! So, what did He do? He told them to pick somebody else to sit on the seats reserved for the servants who were giving excuses. God set an amazing supper for us to sit and eat! It is all about the table! Millions and millions of seats are available! If we are sitting at the table, we don’t care about what happens outside the table! The supper is Him. The Lamb is being served already! But many are sitting at their own table, feasting on something else, on other things. When the storm comes, where do you want to be seated? At your own office desk or in your car as you work for your own self? No one that gives excuses shall taste of His supper (verse 24). It is written!

Look at this response to those who give excuses: “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple” (verse 26).

You can never preach the Gospel of God without going through the cross. I am facing all hell right now, and it is not because I am preaching another gospel but the Gospel! Woe is me if I preach any other gospel or keep anything out of the gospel because I will be putting myself under a curse (Galatians 1:8)! The true Gospel of Christ leaves no room for excuses. His disciples are not chasing their own dreams. They are not running, building, or striving. They are not busy with their own lives and dreams! What is more important? If you don’t make Him more important right now, you won’t be ready for the storm! “Open the door now, Noah!”…they will scream…Too late! Christians want to live Christianity without counting the cost. They even have a good foundation (verse 29) but they are not able to finish the race. Noah got all of the mocking for many years, until the day it rained!

Many are called but few are chosen. Many get excited with the calling but fail to be chosen. Many say, “Yes, Lord, I will go,” but they never leave their father. Read Matthew 22:1-14. The wedding feast is ready! But this man was not wearing a wedding garment (verse 11)! “And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.” Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen” (verses 12-14).

Jesus would never speak about a storm in my dream if a storm was not coming on the horizon. To make us ready, Jesus is highlighting continuously these things that will stop us from our calling and being chosen. What is stopping us from sitting at His table and never leaving it? Soul ties, family matters, career, making money, cares of this life, storing up wealth for our own security…Let’s not get it twisted. We know when we are born again, we are chosen and saved. We are talking about being chosen like the parable of the talents (Matthew 25). We are talking about being equipped for the battle. We are talking about being built on the rock. Religion puts the focus on a one-night stand, on a prayer of being born again, but Jesus focused not just on the calling but on the longevity, on enduring until the end. Let’s not get it twisted by these other gospels. We can do it with His grace. His grace is here to finish the race, not to crawl to the finish line, but to finish strong!

What do storms bring? Loss. Devastation. Disruption. Floods. The storm will take all of these away anyhow. In the world, we buy and get insurance, but in the Kingdom, our insurance is our anchor. Our rock is Jesus. Build your life on Jesus! Sit at the table 24/7: This is the only way to be ready for what is to come! Find yourself at His table. Where are you during this dispensation of time? This is why He spoke about buying oil (Matthew 25:8). He did not say, “Receive it once, and you will be fine.” No. That is not wise. We must buy oil every day and every minute!

These are the things unprepared people will be doing when the storm comes. Why do we call the Lord, Lord, if we don’t respond to Him as our master? When we stand before Him, our father won’t be there, our jobs won’t be there, our kids won’t be there with us. “Master, I will follow you?” but, “Why are you calling Me master when you are more concerned about your own life than of Mine?” God is saying, “You do things for Me, but on your own terms, at your own time, only when you want to, only when you can, and only when you are not busy with your own kingdom…” God calls these type of people workers of iniquity! But look at what He says about the man that does His sayings: “He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock” (Luke 6:48). Read Luke 6:45-49. God is preparing us for this end time storm! Smell the rain! Be prepared! Look at the black clouds!  Hear it and do it! But if we don’t do His sayings, it says:  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great” (verse 49). Whatever we build for God, we need to build it up to code. What is God’s code? What are His requirements? What are His blueprints? It is all written on the pages. We just need to follow them. Build following His ways, upon His Words! Read Matthew 7:21-27. If we want to know people, we need to fellowship!

Why did Jesus speak all this to them? For us to be prepared! Read Matthew 24, and you will see. All the warnings are there to help us, to keep us awake! Prepare for the coming of the storm! Many will come and tell you what to do, this is this, this is that, but no. Listen to the Word and do what the Word tells you to. Listen to the warnings of the Spirit, and follow it! So many diversions and distractions, but we will follow One Voice! He that endures unto the end shall be saved during the storm! We will be at the table of the Lord. Don’t leave the table. Only those who sit at His table will be ready for what is to come. There are no elements of this storm that will overtake us! There is a storm on the horizon but His people, His bride is making herself ready!

Father, we know we are all called, but we want to be chosen, chosen ones that respond to the calling without any excuse, at all cost. Father, don’t let me live a double life, half in and half out! In the kingdom of God, it has to be all in! My spirit became my King because it is the Spirit of God in me! And I need to bow to My King, to the Spirit inside of me! Obey you in everything, and anytime you need me! Anytime you call me! Anytime you want to send me! I must be seated at the table to manifest at the table! Because those who are trying to sit only when they want to will be missing out! They probably are sitting at His table with their work clothes, with their father's favorite shirt, with their kids on their lap! The angels will be going to reap and throw the workers of iniquity in the fire. One will be taken, and one will be left! What if this is way beyond the rapture aspect but a holy selection between those who say all of this blah, blah, blah and never do it? They do things in front of God and people, and the Father is angry at these (Yes, angry – according to Jesus, not to your pastor). It is better not to say you will do it because the Father knows you don’t want to do it anyhow! Let us be ready! Because when it is time, when tribulation happens, and the book of Revelation is unfolding, we will be in Goshen, that place of light. There is a place that still has light! This place is only for those who sit at the table and never leave. Let us be the ones who say yes and are still sitting at the table! May our “Yes” continuously be “Yes” until He comes. May our yes be for today, for tomorrow, and forever! Father, burn out of us all the excuses!

When the storm comes on the horizon, we want to be ready! When the Son of Man needs us, we want to be ready! When the marriage supper of the Lamb is set, we want to be wearing the right clothes! Burn away all the excuses. Because we want to be ready!

The storm is on the horizon…“Therefore be ye also ready...” Matthew 24:44
