THE OBEDIENT ROCK

Obedience is the fragrance that God loves. Father, we need Your Word. Your Word is what saves us, moves us, and makes us grow. Your Word! Let Your Word be like oil in every part of our Body, in our marrow, and in every joint. Father, let our words be not what we want but what You want. Let your revelation of Your Word be planted deep inside of us! We know you are building Your church so that the gates of hell will not prevail. We are the ones that will build our house on the rock! You are building Your church, but it is up to us to build our house on the rock.

So many are saying, “I am saved,” but are you sleeping? When He comes, will He find you sleeping? Will He find faith in you? “Father, keep me awake so I can awaken others.” What God is doing cannot be done in the flesh. But what will I be doing when He comes? Am I busy building my house on the sand? Let this ground be good ground! Let every word spoken become reality in us. Once we are no longer resisting the Truth and resisting what He wants from us, then we will be walking in freedom and feeding one another. Every joint supplying what is lacking! What is lacking in me, I want from you. What is lacking in you, you must find in the Body. Let us not forget that everything we are doing has an eternal purpose and do not despise small beginnings.

The more we come in obedience, the more we grow in Him. Maybe your brother or your sister is growing more than you, maybe because their ground is better than yours! Today the Holy Spirit has a word for us called “The Obedient Rock”! So many people don’t understand the Word that has been released because their foundation is all wrong, their ground is carnal. We know what God already wants. He wrote the Gospel. All we need to do is to follow the Gospel. To do what is written! Whatever He said in His Word, just do it! Think about how you are building your house. Things of the world in it, bad seeds, building with things in the world you put your eyes on? Is the Word not like a hammer (Jeremiah 23:29)? If the Word would come just one time, one hit of the rock would have been enough! But the Word is always coming, constantly breaking all the hard places down, all the old ways down, all the things that are not to be so in us! As we obey, we are securing ourselves.

“See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10

That was what was given to Jeremiah, one man. But now we have the fivefold ministry. Before God was referring to Israel, but now He is talking about us as individuals and as His church! What God did in the natural, He is now doing in the Spirit. We become the house, but we are the keeper of our own house. Are you going to be a lively stone in the building of the Lord or are you going to be thrown in a pile of rubble? Are you going to be a lively stone, an obedient rock, in the house of God? God said that He will build His church upon an obedient rock!

Now God is using the fivefold ministry to do what He told Jeremiah. The 5 major roles of a prophet and apostle in the New Testament: To pull down, To destroy, To throw down, To build, To plant.

  1. To pull down: To pull down is to bring what or that which is high down. A prophet pulls down what is not Godly: pride, sin, and evil. That means everything is being removed so that the only thing that will last is a good foundation! It may have been good before but God is doing a better thing and He has a better way. We must let Him pull down! How does God do that? Through the hammer of His Word and the power of the cross! You are not responsible for the Church; Jesus is! But you are responsible for what you do in and to the Church and also responsible for what you are NOT doing in and to the Church. He told us to be a house built on the rock!

Pulling down strongholds, pulling down imaginations (2 Corinthians 10:5), pulling down also means to depress spirits. It means to call out spirits when you see them. Nothing can be hidden by the eyes of a prophet nor by the eyes of a prophetic Body.Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7

Elijah pulled down Baal’s prophets and their god before the children of Israel on Mount Carmel, even mocking them (1 Kings 18:26-27). He pulled down the altars of Baal. Now Baal wants to rule in the Church and in you! A prophet admonishes, warns, directs, encourages, intercedes, teaches, and counsels. He brings the Word of God to people and calls people to respond. When Elijah called out, our God responded, but their god did not. Water should quench the fire, but when Elijah poured it out nothing happened. The water of the Word never quenches the fire (Solomon 8:7). It just burns us up! It takes a lot of time to build, but also it takes some time to destroy! But if we allow Him, He can destroy even in one day. So, make sure what you build. Let God destroy you so He can rebuild you. He will not destroy or tear down if you don’t let Him!

  1. To destroy: To destroy is to demolish, make useless, spoil, or kill. This does not sound like the God of the New Testament. But I tell you, He loves us so much that He would allow satan to touch us so He can save us!

After the pulling down, a prophet destroys it. A real prophet of God makes the power of Satan useless. That is the reason prophets are powerfully powered. After pulling down Baal prophets, Elijah destroyed (killed) them. Every prophet of the Old Testament was used to destroy what man was building! We need these messages to remind us that a storm will come. You can be mad at a prophet or an apostle, but you should be mad at yourself because you are being disobedient!

You can also even see that when Saul did not obey God and kill Agag, here comes the Prophet Samuel killing what Saul did not do and destroying the bloodline.

The messenger should be your best friend. Jesus was the best example of prophets and apostles and of the whole fivefold ministry: all in one man!

“And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape.  And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.” 1 Kings 18:40

Don’t let anything escape from the tearing of God. God wants to destroy every lie that is inside of you. People were still holding the opinion of Baal. Who cares what people think? Who cares about the opinion of the world? It is all about the Word of God. I care what God says. I have determined to produce 100-fold fruit. In this mindset, we can never go wrong.

God is the only I AM. He is saying to you, “I AM the way. I AM the Truth. I AM the Word. I am who I say I am.” I am not talking about me; I am speaking as an oracle of God. “I AM THE ROCK. I AM THE HAMMER. I AM THE WATER. I AM THE OIL. And before Abraham was, before any roots hit the ground, I AM. I became flesh and I spoke and My words are truth and life. That is WHAT I AM. I AM here to change you so you can change the world.”

  1. To throw down: To throw down is to cause something one is holding to drop. The children of Israel and Baal prophets were holding the opinion that Baal was a true god but Elijah threw down that opinion and proved that Baal is an idol and the true God is the God of Abraham.

And after the pulling down, the destroying, and the throwing down, here comes the apostles, the prophets, the fivefold rebuilding and replanting. But don’t focus on the tearing down. Look at the Word – the promise in the Word – the glory of the latter house will be more glorious than the former!

  1. To build: To build is to construct, establish, or cause to increase. Do not despise small beginnings. After pulling, throwing down, and destroying, then the prophets and apostles build. It had not rained for many days in Israel, and after Elijah slew all Baal prophets, he not only established that the God of Abraham is the true God and Baal is an idol, but he brought rain, causing Israel to increase. Now we are the latter rain!

  1. To plant: To plant is to establish or institute. Elijah established not only that the God of Abraham is the true God, but also the fear of God in the children of Israel.

Read Matthew 13:1-30. What I am doing now is sowing the seed. I am planting eternal seeds. But what happened? What kind of ground are you? You did not let the tilling of the Word prepare your ground and the sun scorched the seed. We all should be trees planted by the river! If you are close to the river, your roots will always get water. But there is good ground. Some hundred, some sixty, some thirty? Who has ears to hear? We all have ears. But who has them to hear? To some, it is not given unto them to understand the mystery of the kingdom. Who are “them”? Are you them? “Them” that hear and hear not, see but see not? Who are you? Are you them in whom the prophesy of Isaiah is fulfilled? Blessed are those who hear, see, and receive in the Spirit and what the Spirit is showing. Blessed are your eyes for they see, blessed are your ears for they hear.  Just like the 10 lepers in the passage of Luke 17:11-19. Jesus healed them all and told them to show themselves to the priest because only the priest had the authority to allow them back into society after the cleansing and into the Jewish community.  And they went but ONE OF THEM came back to JESUS seeing HIM as THE HIGH PRIEST. And Jesus made him whole. This whole process will make us all whole as a Body, as a Church, and as a Bride! Wow! Jesus asked that one, “Where are the other nine?” This one that came back was a stranger, a Samaritan. Only he was able to see the real and true living God. None of the 9 came back to give glory to God, and because of that he not only got healed, he got the kingdom. No one can come to the Father unless the Spirit draws them (John 6:44). The other nine were so caught up in the law and tradition, they went to a man-made priest, but this stranger made his way to our eternal high priest! Wow!

Tribulation and persecution will rise if I follow the Word. Yes! Unless I started deceiving myself. Many Christs, many Words will rise. Do not listen to them! Don’t be offended at the Word. Many think they are offended at the person that is giving the Word, but actually, you are offended at the Word. If they do not receive the word coming out of you, they are rejecting the Word (Matthew 10:40). How are you building your house? Are you kicking the prophet, the messenger, and the Truth out of your house? Why is God setting us apart? Because the cares of the world will kill the eternal seed. So, we must be separated from this world. Only those who receive the seed and are good ground will receive up to a 100-fold return! There is always a production happening!  It was never up to the Sower; it’s always been up to the ground, the house, the person. God is giving you the WORD as a seed. The type of ground you are determines the increase that you produce. He is saying, “It is by obedience.”

If we don’t let God destroy our kingdom, we cannot be His disciples. Who builds? You are the builder. What kind of builder does not count the cost and does not look at the foundation? It is going to cost you something. Read Luke 14:24-35. This is not about works of salvation, but about being able to stand on the rock! Satan mocked Peter for going back to the boat. If you don’t forsake all that you have…all. Forsake means letting it go, not making it first…putting something in priority…You will not be able to be used, and you won’t be fit, not even for the dunghill!

We must be that obedient rock! “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:46-49

If you hear what He says and do what He says, you will be like someone who built his house and dug really deep, and put his foundation on the rock! And when the floods come, your foundation won’t be moved out of its place! Because your foundation was found on the Word of God! Pray. Crucify yourself. Follow the Spirit. Samuel told Saul to kill everything, but he did not (1 Samuel 15:13), but we decide to spare something for ourselves! Whatever you desire to spare when God says, “Kill it,” will destroy your house! Now in this passage in Luke 6, God is talking about you, me, and His church! Are you a stone that is lively? So grateful for grace and for God never stopping us from growing, and for never giving up on us!

Storms are always coming and what happens when they come? Obedience is your pillar; it is your anchor. The Word says do not be a hearer of the Word but a doer of the Word! (James 1:22-25). About whom did Isaiah prophesy? About Jesus Christ. Read Luke 6:46-49. Are you sculpting into Christ or sculpting yourself and life into your own self, into Baal? Don’t be a shame to the house of God. Jesus is saying, I am giving to you now the house of David, the keys of heaven and hell. “Who will hear My Words? Who will bind? Who will loose? Who will build his house on obedience and on the Truth?” “Only those who will harken to My Words will not be shaken,” says God.

“And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house. And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons. In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 22:23-25

He will fasten YOU as a nail. Who is the sure place? It is Christ. And obedience is the nail. The pounding is the hammer of the Word causing us to be grounded and rooted in Christ, anchored into the Truth, fastened onto the rock of our salvation, the Truth, the Way, and the life. Not just worshipping Him in songs and dance, in the flesh, but in Spirit and in Truth. That fragrance of obedience is pure worship! Some will be for burning and some will be for the glory of God. It is all about obedience. Obedience is His fragrance. Obedience is your rock! We will fasten as a nail. We are the latter house. And the glory is much greater! Stop being rebellious! The reward of the Lord is in His hands. Are you fastened as a nail in Christ?

“For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.” Zechariah 4:10

Despise not instruction. Despise not one another. Despise not Truth. Despise not obedience. Despise not small beginnings. What ground are you? Father, help us. Make us a good ground. Holy Spirit, we don’t want to be tossed to and fro. Obedience will be our bread! Before Abraham was, He was, He is, He is to come! I will build my house upon His Word, not my opinion, not my ministry, not my thoughts and dreams. We receive and we rejoice for the salvation that comes from your Word. This is our inheritance. He is coming quickly, and His reward is with Him. “Father, help us to hear and harken to your word. Give us ears to hear and a heart to obey quickly! You are fastening us in His Word. Let obedience be something so natural to us. We will obey Him in everything, with our gifts, lives, finances, and instructions. Obedience is better than sacrifice! We shall not be moved! We are Your church and Your servants, and we are obedient even unto the death! We are the obedient rock. My stone will remain alive in the House of God! Amen.
