HUMILITY HAS A NEW FACE

Humility Has A New Face

Humility is this:

“God, I wanna do this or that. But your will be done.”

“God, I wanna do my own thing but I’m gonna do what you want instead.”

“God, I wanna stay quiet but I will speak what you’re speaking.”

“God, I wanna say this but I’ll hold my tongue for you.”

“And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.” Luke 22:39-43

You see all these years we’ve been seeing humility all wrong. We think humility is this thing where we lower our view of ourselves. We speak less bold and more gentle. We never say “I” or anything about self.

Yet we have false humility all over the church, one person deceiving another with their outside demonstration. “O, he’s so humble, look, he never says ‘I’ or talks about himself.” That’s not humility!! Those same people that never talk about themselves are all about themselves, and their hidden agenda is to deceive you and get what they want out of you or please you, to win favor with all men but never have favor with God.

Jesus demonstrated real humility in the garden. The fact that He didn’t want to do it this way. He didn’t want to be beaten like that. He was going to feel every lash, every whip. There was no grace for that, it was going to hurt. And, in that, it made His sacrifice even more valuable and worthy. His flesh didn’t want to do it but His spirit was willing. So He humbled Himself when His heart decided, “Nevertheless, let your will be done.”

I don’t want to drink this cup, but if this is what you have for me: I will do it! This is real humility. This is what it really looks like to humble oneself. To submit to God, to do what He says no matter how much you want to do what you want. I don’t care how much they say “I” this, “I” that, if they are submissive to God, they are humble! Pride is to submit to yourself, your own opinion, your own desires. It’s all about you!

Then what, when Jesus decided what His Will was going to be and that it was going to be God, strength from Heaven came to do what He was called to do. Many today are getting no grace, no strength from Heaven because they are struggling between God’s will and their own, God’s word and their own word.

Paul referred to himself many times as an apostle. He also spoke about himself many times. He also spoke this...

“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.” 2 Timothy 2:8

Oh no!!!!! He said according to “MY GOSPEL.” This is what religion does. And if anyone today spoke anything like Paul they would be stoned immediately. Yet Paul was just explaining from a place of revelation that God gave Him. He knew that His Gospel was from God and not himself. Though he had to say it like this because many other gospels are out there, and he was preventing mixture and establishing the revelation that God gave him and it wasn’t from any man!

Yet religion always examines how it’s said, what words are used, but they always miss the heart!

I guess David was prideful when he cut off Goliath’s head and showed everybody in the city. I guess David was prideful when he was dancing in the city before God. Yet Michal came against him, and the Michals are still coming against the Davids. The false church is still coming against the REAL church!

Rebellion is pride because we think we have a better way. We think what we want is better than what God has for us. We think the pleasures of this world are better than pleasures from God’s glory. We need to wake up! It does not matter how much you look like love, if you’re full of rebellion inside, you are the most prideful.

A lot of times the ones that sound prideful are usually humble, and the ones that sound humble are the most prideful. The question is what place are you operating from? Where are you speaking from? Are doing and speaking from your own spirit or from His Spirit! To humble yourself is to deny your own way. And we’re not just humbling ourselves. We are humbling ourselves to God. So that now means we deny our own way and choose His way.

In every choice we make, we are either choosing to humble ourselves or glorify ourselves. Our will will be there to tempt us until the end. Just like Jesus, His own will was the door to Satan to try and speak to Him before the cross. Thirty-three years of dying to self and yet His own will was still waiting to be moved on for disobedience. Yet Jesus proved to be worthy by enduring God’s will and overcoming His own will until the end. Then, in the end, He says, “It is finished.”

What is finished? God’s will for His life. His destiny He was called to. His part was done. Everything He was called to do, He endured. The most humble man to walk the planet. And His humbleness was defined in His choosing of God’s will every day in every choice all through His life. Will you be able to say “it is finished” in the end?

Thirty-three years of denying and submitting, and now it’s our turn. Now it’s our turn to humble ourselves, that God would exalt us. That we would humble ourselves by submitting to the Truth. That we would humble ourselves by submitting to His Word. And we would humble ourselves by submitting to the Holy Spirit. In every decision, in every choice, in everything we do. We choose what He wants, thinks, and desires. Real humility!!

Not the humility that religion has made up where they do it in the flesh but never change the heart. But real humility that comes when I obey Him.

Humility has a new face! And it’s no longer going to look like what we have always thought. A new breed that is rising that will be as bold as a lion and as submissive as a lamb. This is real humility, those that obey the father in all things!

You can be humble one day and prideful the next. Just ask Ahab. He repented and God recognized his humility, and the next day he was killed because he decided to do his own will again. Don’t let it be you. Don’t let the strong delusion on this world come back on you because you decided to go your own way. Even if it is spiritual, if it’s not God, it’s still pride. Religious people make their own rebellion sound so spiritual and clothed in scripture, yet it’s still rebellion and pride.

Submit to God and the devil will flee.

Submit to God and you will be free.

Submit to God and you will walk in humility!
