Claws of Leviathan, by Shane W Roessiger

" In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,

Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea." Isaiah 27:1

Here are some characteristics of Leviathan Spirit:

. It wants always to have the last word

. Condescending attitudes towards others in the body

. Critical about themselves. Independent attitude

Self-glory and exaltation

Dishonor of authority

Desiring to control others and situations in which they are placed

. Carries a victim mentality that masquerades as false humility

. Has walls up so no one can get in

It drowns you in a sea of sorrow, discontentment, and a victim mindset. “Nobody cares about me.” “I’m always wrong.” “I’m no use for anything.” “I never do anything right.” “I don’t fit in anywhere.” LIES! LIES! And more LIES! Depression is its swamp.

Self-exaltations occur in reaction to those feelings, then you either isolate or try to prove you are worthy when all along Jesus is saying, “I love you. Repent.” Then you begin to see only what Satan shows you. You no longer come under the Word and submit to the Bible because Satan has twisted your thinking, and you think you have a right. This spirit will have Christians saying, “But you don’t know what they did to me,” or, “If you were me you would understand.”  So they exalt their will above the word of God, then that’s pride, then it ensnares them.

Then sin is produced through disobedience to God and the word. Then unbelief is sin. Then the hook is in. Leviathan now has control of thoughts and the mind and starts to control emotions.

Then it’s all about you. Satan is the master of pride.

Then you ultimately are un-teachable and cannot receive from others, especially the one you are offended at.

"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.  Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:4-17

An offended heart is a wounded heart. Most people who get attacked by leviathan are those wounded from the past. Only Jesus, the word, knowing the truth and obeying it can protect us from these nasty claws. Thinking we are such a case that we cannot be changed is pride and false humility. We shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. So if you believe a lie about yourself then you are ultimately exalting yourself above God’s word and denying your new nature, denying the truth, and staying in negative agreement with the father of lies. Making the Gospel of no power or use makes you a sinner. Unbelief is sin. Everyone has a past, a story, and, hopefully, a testimony. I’m praying that this word will give one to so many trapped in the claws of leviathan. That’s why the word talks about examining yourself to see if you are in the faith.

You even see where King Saul got jealous of David in the Old Testament because people said that Saul killed thousands and David tens of thousands. They had a great relationship before that. See that claw of jealousy and Saul’s pride. Satan used other people to provoke Saul to jealousy. See, leaders are not exempt. Actually they are the biggest target to be taken out. Then when Saul took the offense, the same thing happened. He began a mission to destroy his best man. He began to be tormented just like Judas. He killed himself and his destiny. Pride always wants to look great to people, and the claw of offense and jealousy took Him out as He began to exalt himself above God.

Do not take the cup of offense. Kill jealousy and humble yourself. Love even those who are jealous of you and who are prideful, and take no offense. You will do well. Leviathan will not ensnare you or make you betray one another even those you once loved so dearly enough to follow or have covenant relations with!
